Drawing after antiquity - The Plaster Cast Collection opens for an afternoon of drawing

The afternoon opening of the Plaster Cast Collection is an offer to all those who want to deal intensively with drawing.

The purism of the form of plaster casts and the impressive objects offer an inexhaustible pool of motifs. This revives a tried and tested academic tradition. Drawing after antiquity was an integral part of art education at the academy until the beginning of the 20th century.

The collection of about 450 historical plaster casts can be regarded as unique in Vienna. This comprehensive treasure trove of forms is to be used as a source of inspiration and to revive the artistic form of expression of drawing.

At the appointment, you can immerse yourself in the collection individually and without guidance.

Please bring your own pens, paper and, if necessary, easel.
